Home away from Home is intended for people who have completed a treatment programme but still require living in a structured environment.
Recovery from
Compulsive/Addictive behaviour is a life long process. Living alone or even with family creates unreasonable stresses in early recovery
that may lead to relapse.
Communal living in a sheltered environment is the key to creating a stable and balanced lifestyle. It helps
a person establish boundaries, learn to handle conflict situations without aggression and become a useful member of a community.
The
longer a person can stay in a communal (therapeutic) environment the better the chances are of a long-term healthy recovery.
Home from
Home offers shared accommodation (2-3 people per room), on-suite bathrooms, a large garden with a pool and Jacuzzi, laundry service
and secure parking.
The communal sitting room has DSTV and a terrace area for Braai’s. A weekly house meeting is held and residents
are also encouraged to attend self-help groups in the area (AA/NA/OA/GA/CA/MA/SSA). Group and individual counselling is also available
within the house.
